Is WhiskyBids a licensed alcohol retailer?
No. WhiskyBids does not buy or sell whisky directly. We provide a platform for individuals and businesses to list and purchase bottles from one another.


Account & Registration

Do I need an account to use WhiskyBids?
Yes. You’ll need to register for a free account to place bids, buy items, or list bottles for sale.

Who can register?
Anyone who is of legal drinking age in their country and complies with local alcohol laws can register and use WhiskyBids.

Can I sell whisky if I’m not a business?
Yes. Both individuals and licensed sellers can list bottles for sale. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that you're legally allowed to sell alcohol in your jurisdiction.


Bidding & Buying

How do auctions work?
Auctions run for a set time and the highest bidder at the end wins. Bids are binding, so please only bid if you intend to complete the purchase.

Can I retract a bid?
No. All bids are final and cannot be retracted.

What is “Buy Now”?
Some sellers offer bottles at a fixed price with the “Buy Now” option — no bidding required. These can be purchased immediately.

Do I have to pay tax or customs fees?
Buyers are responsible for any local taxes, duties, or customs fees that may apply based on their location.


Shipping & Delivery

Who handles shipping?
Shipping is handled directly by the seller. WhiskyBids does not store or dispatch any items.

Where do bottles ship from?
Bottles can be listed from sellers worldwide. The shipping origin is shown on the listing page.

Can sellers ship to my country?
Each seller sets their own shipping destinations. It’s your responsibility to check your local laws regarding alcohol import. If in doubt, contact the seller before purchasing.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates are set by sellers and vary depending on the destination, service used, and size of the order. You’ll see the shipping fee on the listing before you place a bid or make a purchase.


Payments

How do I pay for my item?
Payments are processed securely through third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal. Available options will appear at checkout.

Is payment secure?
Yes. We use secure payment gateways and do not store your card details.


Selling on WhiskyBids

How do I list a bottle for sale?
Once you’re registered, you can create listings by uploading details, images, and setting your auction duration or fixed price.

Are there seller fees?
Yes, fees may apply to listings, successful sales, or add-on features (e.g. homepage promotion). These will be clearly displayed when creating your listing.

What types of bottles can I list?
Only sealed, authentic bottles of whisky in their original packaging (if applicable) can be listed. Miniatures and collectible sets are also permitted. Opened bottles are not allowed.

Can I sell internationally?
Yes, if shipping alcohol is permitted from your country. Make sure you understand the legal requirements for sending whisky abroad.


Returns, Issues & Disputes

What if I don’t receive my item?
Contact the seller first. If the issue isn’t resolved, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you offer returns?
As WhiskyBids is a marketplace, return policies are set by each seller. If there is an issue with your order, contact the seller directly.

What if I receive a damaged or counterfeit item?
Sellers are expected to ship safely and list genuine items. If something isn’t right, contact the seller and provide photos. You may also contact us for assistance.
